The Medical Secretary is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support to patients, physicians, medical assistants, and clerical staff.
Primary duties will include but are not limited to:
Greet all patients and visitors to ensure a friendly, welcoming and professional clinic atmosphere Answering, screening, and directing phone calls to appropriate parties without error Checking patients in and out; facilitating test ordering, follow-up appointment scheduling, etc.
Calling no-show patients and rescheduling them for another appointment Following processes related to timely and accurate electronic filing Delivering patient messages to physicians, care teams and patients Assisting with prior authorizations for prescriptions Scheduling patient appointments Calling/scheduling patients on pursuit lists Timely responses to patient inquire and timely completion of assigned task Manage faxes, copying and scanning as needed Facilitate patient forms; i.

Requirements:
High School Diploma / GED One year experience in a fast paced clinic environment, preferably in a family practice/internal medicine setting The ability to communicate clearly to patients and fellow staff members both verbally and in writing Energetic, professional manner EMR proficient, Cerner experience preferred Excellent Computer Skills, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word a plus Qualified candidates should submit a resume detailing their qualifications via this ad.
